Note: Professional Development Plan 'Submit' funtion is available starting September 1, annually.
The CCP requirement begins when a dietitian registers as a Full registrant and follows a three-year cycle. For returning registrants, the requirement begins with registration renewal on April 1, every three years.
The CCP requires dietitians to self-assess their knowledge and skills relative to the CDBC Standards of Practice and determine a minimum of three learning plans that relate to three different standards/indicators of practice at the beginning of each CCP cycle. Dietitians have three years to work on and complete their learning plans, which form the Professional Development Plan. In the third year of the CCP cycle, dietitians submit their Professional Development Plan online.
Each learning plan must meet the Quality Assurance Committee assessment criteria and include: a learning goal, at least two learning activities to meet the goal and a description of the learning plan's contribution to practice. Dietitians who are registered with Restricted Activities must include at least one learning plan that demonstrates maintenance/update of the knowledge and skills required for that practice.
